How to make a Winnie the Pooh Preschool Craft

Who was your favorite childhood character? I spend many Kindergarten afternoons jumping off the school bus looking forward to a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch and Winnie the Pooh on our very limited cable tv. Do you remember the Winnie the Pooh show with the characters dressed up in costumes? Gotta love 80’s tv right?

It’s no surprise that my favorite part of each episode was the craft at the end of the show. Piglet, or another friend in Pooh Corner, would demonstrate a cute craft or activity for kids to do at home. I still love to craft which is why I’m showing you how to make a Winnie the Pooh preschool craft based on one of my favorite childhood characters!

Supplies:

Directions:

  1. Print out copies of the free Honey Pot printable template here.
  2. Children can use crayons, markers, pencils or paint to decorate their honey pots. You can read to them from the book Winnie the Pooh while they color for a special storytime.
  3. Cut the decorated honey pot out around the edges, or allow kids to cut the honey pot out themselves as a scissors skills activity.
  4. Add a few dots of glue to the back of the honey pot and attach it to the center of a piece of construction paper.
  5. Give each child a piece of yellow construction paper to tear into small pieces.
  6. Glue the yellow construction paper pieces to the top, sides and base of the honey pot as honey.

This craft is great for a preschool classroom or family craft at home. The colorful honey pots look adorable lined up on a wall as a letter “H” activity!

I’ve teamed up with some of my blogger friends to bring you great crafts for kids every month! Check out the Kid Craft Challenge links for this month’s theme, “Favorite Childhood Character,” below.

  1. I loved Winnie the Pooh! We had so fewer shows and characters than kids have now. Love this craft, it’s so symbolic of Winnie the Pooh.

    1. Thank you! My kids jump from one favorite character to the next these days because there doesn’t seem to be any one that stands out like they used to…
